Currency Exchange
It is convenient to exchange money before traveling. It is recommended that currency be exchanged for 30 percent of expected travel expenses. Currency exchange is available at airport exchange booths or banks on South Korea. You must present your passport when changing money. About US$3,000 or less can be exchanged for sojourn periods of up to 6 months, while US$10,000 or less can be exchanged for sojourn periods of up to 6 months or more. A passport and customs declaration form are require for exchanging more than US$10,000.
