Daehang Fishing Tour Village

About the Village
Daehang Fishing Tour Village
  • Situated on the southernmost part of Cheongadong (Gadeokdo), Gangseogu, Busan City, Daehang Village can be said to be Gadeok Island's last village and the largest port and is also referred to as Hanmok. Also, a festival is held annually in the months of April or May to showcase the traditional method of catching mullets by using six ships to haul in mullets, a method that has been used for more than 160 years.
  • On December 24, 1981, Daehang port was announced as the 2nd fishing port and at present, as a Busan regional fishing port, it is a place where natural scenery and artificial beauty come together. The entrance to the village is very small and narrow, and there is not that much useable land there. Mountainous regions cover most of the village and centered on the port, 90% of the region excluding the residential area of the village have been designated as a green belt and navy base. The sea is included in the wider jurisdictional area of the Busan port.
  • Dispersed as small scale villages in three different areas are Bondong, Saebaji, and Woehangpo. All three villages border the sea and are furnished with facilities such as a breakwater.
