In order to promote emotional cultivation and to inspire local patriotism among the strollers by turning the Nakdong River levee into a residents' park, Gangseo District Office developed a royal azalea hill with landscape architecture and erected a monument inscribed with a poem in 1992. The monument inscribed with a poem which was set up in such a fashioin was placed at the Gangseo side of the levee between the Gupo Grand Bridge and Nakdong Grand Bridge. The Geum, Soo Hyeon song monument and Lee, Eun Sang poem monument were set up in February of 1992 as elegant works of sculpture. The Bae, Jae Hwang poem monument was erected in July of 1992, and Jo, Ji Hoon, Park, Mok Wol, Lee, Joo Hong poem monument was set up in August of 1992, both as graceful works of sculpture. Also, each monument displayed distinctive features.

Yoon, Yi Sang provided the melody, and the song was widely loved and sung as the 'Song of Gyeongnam People' in the early 1950s.
